2021 European Climate Change Adaptation Conference to be held in Slovenia

Lisbon, 30 May 2019 – State Secretary at the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, Marko Maver, attended the 4th European Climate Change Adaptation Conference (ECCA 2019) entitled "Working together to prepare for change" held in Portugal. At the closing plenary session, the State Secretary assumed the responsibility for organising the 5th European Climate Change Adaptation Conference in 2021 in Ljubljana.

The conference, held biennially, is aimed at fostering dialogue between academia, government, business and community actors on several aspects of climate change adaptation, at promoting communication and the exchange of knowledge among researchers, policy makers and experts, and at discussing the key challenges and solutions in cities. This year's conference focused on six themes ranging from the coproduction of knowledge to tackling the global challenges of adapting to climate change and reducing disaster risk. The State Secretary addressed the closing plenary session and presented the climate policy of the Republic of Slovenia stressing the commitment to joint efforts to combat climate change.
